But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming for baptism, he said to them, "You brood of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Therefore bear fruit in keeping with repentance; and do not suppose that you can say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham for our father' for I say to you that from these stones God is able to raise up children to Abraham. The axe is already laid at the root of the trees; therefore every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. As for me, I baptize you in water unto repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, and I am not fit to remove his sandals. He will baptize you in the Holy Spirit and fire. His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will thoroughly clear his threshing floor and he will gather his wheat into the barn, but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire."
Matthew 3:7-12
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and
unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,
because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made
it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His
invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly
seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without
excuse.... because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the Day of
wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God who will render to each
person according to his works... to those who are selfishly ambitious and do not obey the truth, but obey
unrighteousness, anger and wrath... on the Day when God will judge the secrets of men
through Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
Romans 1:18-2:16.
For this you know with certainty, that no immoral or impure person or covetous
man, who is an idolater, has an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.
Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things
the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.
Ephesians 5:5-6
Therefore consider the members of your earthly body as dead to immorality,
impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry.
For it is because of these things that the wrath of God will come upon the
sons of disobedience.
Colossians 3:5-6
You turned to God from idols to serve a living and true God, and to
wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, that is Jesus, who
delivers us from the wrath to come.
1 Thessalonians 1:9-10
For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our
Lord Jesus Christ.

They said to the mountains and to the rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the
presence of Him who sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb;
for the great Day of their wrath has come, and who is able to stand?"
